Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic learning and pharmacy practice into real-world settings to prepare for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This program is designed to deepen your understanding of store, district, and regional operations, with a focus on patient safety, quality assurance, and professional standards.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and providing personalized care at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures across all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Maintain self-awareness while providing in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
• Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles regarding pharmacy practice.
• Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification.
• Support inventory activities, including cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and managing medication deliveries.

What you'll need#

• Must be a PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation, per state guidelines.
• Ability to perform essential physical functions, including remaining upright for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
• Strong communication skills, mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations, and the ability to solve problems in patient interactions.
