Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

This is a part-time, paid Pharmacy Intern position. You will apply your didactic pharmacy school learning into real-world practice, working under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role focuses on gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations and preparing for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist.

What you'll do#

• Support pharmacy teams in delivering the brand promise while ensuring operations run smoothly.
• Assist in pharmacy workflow, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off, to ensure prescriptions are filled accurately and promptly.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, solving patient problems, and providing caring service.
• Follow company standard operating procedures (SOPs) at every workstation to maintain safety and compliance.
• Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by required training.
• Maintain and update patient information, field medical questions under pharmacist supervision, and clarify prescriptions with prescribers.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Strong attention to detail, including the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods and verify prescription information and label accuracy.
• Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods, with the capacity to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Flexibility for scheduling, including nights and weekends, and the ability to travel to different store locations within the market as needed.
