Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic training into real-world practice to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. Under the guidance of a preceptor and district leadership, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This program focuses on deepening your understanding of pharmacy operations, patient safety, quality assurance, and professional standards.

What you'll do#

• Support the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by providing empathetic care and personalized service via phone and in-person interactions.
• Educate patients about vaccines, answer related questions, and obtain informed consent.
• Assist with inventory management activities, such as processing deliveries, cycle counts, and returns, as permitted by law.
• Communicate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes where allowed by state regulation.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient privacy and controlled substance recordkeeping.

What you'll need#

• Must be a PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the training program.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation. Failure to meet this requirement will result in separation of employment.
• Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods, with the physical capacity to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
• Strong attention to detail, mathematical reasoning, and the ability to pivot quickly between tasks.
