Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your didactic pharmacy education into real-world practice to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on deepening your understanding of pharmacy operations, patient safety, quality assurance, and professional standards while contributing to a supportive and inclusive team environment.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure that pharmacy operations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off, run smoothly and safely.
• Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and contact them to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes where allowed by state regulation.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care during interactions at the register, drive-thru, and over the phone.
• Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
• Offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and solicit medical history information under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Complete basic inventory activities, such as processing medication deliveries, cycle counts, and returns.
• Maintain high standards of self-awareness and contribute to a safe, inclusive team dynamic.

What you'll need#

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation per state guidelines.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
• Strong communication skills, mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations, and the ability to pivot quickly between tasks.
