Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy education to real-world practice, preparing for a future role as a Pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on developing your skills in pharmacy operations, patient safety, quality assurance, and professional standards while supporting the pharmacy team in delivering care.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team in ensuring operations run smoothly, including the prompt, safe, and accurate fulfillment of prescriptions.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Provide empathetic, personalized service to patients at the register, over the phone, and via drive-thru.
• Offer immunization services and point-of-care testing where permitted by law and supported by training.
• Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details as allowed by state regulation.
• Complete inventory activities, such as processing deliveries, cycle counts, and returns-to-stock.
• Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members as your readiness increases.

What you'll need#

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
• Strong communication skills, mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations, and the ability to solve problems in patient interactions.
• Ability to remain mobile for extended periods, reach, stoop, and lift up to 20 lbs.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and travel to other store locations within the market as needed.
