Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your didactic pharmacy education into real-world practice to prepare for a future role as a Pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on deepening your understanding of patient safety, drug utilization review, and pharmacy operations while contributing to a safe and inclusive environment.

What you'll do#

• Apply pharmacy school learning to daily practice and support pharmacy team operations.
• Follow standard operating procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Provide empathetic customer service by assisting patients, answering questions, and resolving issues.
• Support health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law and supported by training.
• Assist with inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
• Communicate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes as allowed by regulation.
• Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members as your tenure increases.

What you'll need#

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
• Must possess valid intern and/or technician licensure as required by the state.
• Regular and predictable attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Strong attention to detail, mathematical reasoning skills, and the ability to pivot between tasks to meet patient needs.
• Physical ability to remain mobile for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
