As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic training into real-world practice to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. You will participate in a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation, focusing on store, district, and regional operations. You will gain hands-on experience in patient safety, quality assurance, and drug utilization review while working under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team in ensuring operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at various workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to a positive patient experience by showing empathy, solving patient problems, and providing caring service.
- Support Pharmacists and Technicians by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining high standards of patient privacy and security.
- Offer medication counseling, field medical questions, and clarify prescriptions with prescribers where permitted by law.
- Manage inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and processing medication deliveries.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members as your tenure and readiness increase.
- Deliver additional health services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by training.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe per state guidelines.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Strong communication skills, mathematical reasoning, and the ability to focus on tasks over extended periods.
- Physical ability to remain mobile for extended periods, reach, stoop, and lift up to 20 lbs.
