Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic training into real-world practice to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. You will participate in a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation, focusing on store, district, and regional operations. You will gain hands-on experience in patient safety, quality assurance, and drug utilization review while working under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team in ensuring operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at various workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Contribute to a positive patient experience by showing empathy, solving patient problems, and providing caring service.
• Support Pharmacists and Technicians by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining high standards of patient privacy and security.
• Offer medication counseling, field medical questions, and clarify prescriptions with prescribers where permitted by law.
• Manage inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and processing medication deliveries.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members as your tenure and readiness increase.
• Deliver additional health services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by training.

What you'll need#

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe per state guidelines.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Strong communication skills, mathematical reasoning, and the ability to focus on tasks over extended periods.
• Physical ability to remain mobile for extended periods, reach, stoop, and lift up to 20 lbs.
