About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. This position involves working under the direction of a preceptor to gain experience in pharmacy operations while supporting the pharmacy team.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly.
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations.
- Follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Complete basic inventory activities.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Deliver additional patient health care services like immunizations.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting (preferred).
- Ability to become immunization certified (preferred).
- Ability to work in your home store and across the market in other locations (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (preferred).
