About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations while preparing for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. This is a part-time, on-site role with rolling start dates.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and solicit information regarding medical history.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and contact them to clarify or facilitate medication changes.
- Complete basic inventory activities, including cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories.
- Assist the pharmacy team in maintaining operational standards and providing service to patients.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or the process of obtaining, a valid intern or technician license.
- Ability to maintain concentration on tasks over extended periods.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
