Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy operations, developing clinical skills, and preparing for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. You will participate in a comprehensive training roadmap designed to provide hands-on experience across store, district, and regional operations.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
• Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to support Pharmacists and Technicians in managing patient health.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and genuine care during interactions at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
• Offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and solicit information on medical history under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Complete basic inventory activities as directed by pharmacy leadership, including cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and managing medication deliveries.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Possession of, or active process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Strong focus and the ability to maintain concentration on tasks over extended periods.
• Proficiency in confirming prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
