About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic learning into a professional environment. You will work under the guidance of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on pharmacy operations, patient safety, and gaining the skills necessary for a career as a Pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with prescription fulfillment and operate workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Deepen your understanding of patient safety, error prevention, and quality assurance.
- Provide patient care by offering counseling, fielding medical questions, and taking telephonic prescriptions from prescribers under supervision.
- Support immunization services by educating patients, obtaining consent, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Perform inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns, and stocking deliveries.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to pharmacy team members.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- 1+ years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work at your home store and travel to other locations within the market as needed.
