Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. This role involves supporting the pharmacy team to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient prescription fulfillment while providing compassionate care to patients.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including key learning experiences and activities.
• Follow standard operating procedures at all pharmacy workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and genuine care during interactions.
• Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination-related questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty.
• Maintain focus and attention to detail to ensure patient safety and prescription accuracy.
• Pivot quickly between tasks to meet the needs of patients and the business.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining such licensure.
• A strong customer service orientation with a proactive approach to helping others.
• Ability to maintain focus on tasks over extended periods.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
