About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist by immersing you in a culture of continuous improvement and patient-focused care.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on the brand promise and ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off, to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care through customer interactions, including fielding medical questions and providing compassionate service.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences to build clinical and technical aptitude.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and relevant laws to ensure patient safety, privacy, and secure recordkeeping.
- Assist with inventory activities, such as processing deliveries, cycle counts, and returns, as permitted by law.
- Support immunization services, including patient education, documentation, and monitoring, where allowable by state regulation and following required training.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining such licensure as required.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Capacity for regular and predictable attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
- Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Ability to perform physical requirements, including standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
