Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will bridge the gap between your didactic pharmacy education and real-world clinical practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in store, district, and regional pharmacy operations. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist by immersing you in high-performing pharmacy teams.

What you'll do#

• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on hands-on learning and professional development.
• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations, such as production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off, run smoothly.
• Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following standard operating procedures and verifying label accuracy.
• Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by training.
• Provide empathetic customer service, field medical questions, and assist in maintaining inventory levels.
• Communicate effectively with prescribers to clarify prescriptions and facilitate medication changes as permitted by regulation.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Valid intern and/or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Strong customer service orientation and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• High attention to detail to ensure prescription accuracy and patient safety.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.

• Compensation: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
