About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience with store operations while preparing for a future Pharmacist role. This position requires on-site work and offers a part-time schedule.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and solicit information on medical history.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify orders or facilitate medication changes.
- Complete inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries and performing cycle counts.
- Deliver patient health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Capacity to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
