Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This program is designed to help you build clinical and technical skills, gain operational experience, and prepare for the responsibilities of a Pharmacist. You will work through a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences (KLEs), to understand store, district, and regional operations.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, including prescription fulfillment at various workstations.
• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, addressing patient needs, and providing caring service.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company standard operating procedures.
• Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, where permitted by law and supported by required training.
• Perform inventory activities, such as cycle counts and returns, and support the team through effective communication and collaboration.

What you'll need#

• Current acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Possession of, or the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Strong attention and focus, with the ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to use mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations.
