About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while preparing you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and follow company SOPs at every workstation.
- Assist the pharmacy team with workflow procedures for prescription fulfillment, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by offering empathetic service and solving patient problems.
- Offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Perform basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and managing medication deliveries.
- Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics where permitted.
- Educate patients on the importance of vaccines and monitor for potential adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication, active listening, and mathematical problem-solving.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks, pivot between duties, and maintain attention to prescription accuracy.
- Physical ability to remain upright for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive finger movements.
- Preferred: 1+ years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
- Preferred: Ability to become immunization certified and work across multiple store locations.
- Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

- Compensation: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour.
