Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic training to real-world practice, preparing for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience with pharmacy operations at the store, district, and regional levels. This role focuses on delivering safe, accurate patient care while developing professional skills in a retail pharmacy environment.

What you'll do#

• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately and promptly.
• Follow all company standard operating procedures at every workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Maintain self-awareness and provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
• Contribute to a safe and inclusive culture by demonstrating empathy and genuine care during patient interactions.
• Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and managing medication deliveries.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Possession of, or active progress toward obtaining, a valid intern or technician license as required by the state.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Strong attention to detail, specifically the ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
• Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet evolving patient and business needs.
• Capability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 20 lbs.
