Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern for Summer 2026, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education into real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. This role provides hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations while supporting the pharmacy team in delivering safe and accurate patient care.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care when serving patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
• Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
• Maintain focus and self-awareness while performing tasks and assisting colleagues.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Valid intern and/or technician licensure, or currently in the process of obtaining it.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Strong mathematical skills to solve problems, such as calculating medication dosages.
• Ability to concentrate on specific tasks over extended periods.
