About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. This program provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while you gain hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately.
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences with empathy and care.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify prescriptions with prescribers.
- Provide coaching and training to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and returns.
- Comply with federal, state, and local laws and privacy regulations.
- Deliver patient health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Educate patients about vaccines and monitor for adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.

- Location: West Lafayette, Indiana.
- This is a part-time, paid position.
- The role follows a rolling term.
- Work is on-site.
