About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education into real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap that covers pharmacy operations and patient care. This role focuses on preparing you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Provide patient immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify prescriptions when necessary.
- Complete basic inventory activities, including cycle counts and returns-to-stocks.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and assist with monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Assist the pharmacy team in maintaining operations and providing caring service to patients.
What you'll need#
- Must be accepted into or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or be in the process of obtaining, a valid intern or technician license.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed.
