Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education into real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This program provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations, helping you develop the skills necessary for a future Pharmacist role while supporting our pharmacy teams in delivering patient care.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure that pharmacy operations run smoothly, including filling prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to help Pharmacists and Technicians manage and improve patient health.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, genuine care, and professional communication.
• Complete basic inventory activities, such as processing deliveries, cycle counts, and returns-to-stock, as permitted by law and directed by leadership.
• Support immunizations by educating patients on vaccine importance and referring vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty.
• Maintain flexibility to pivot between tasks and assist in various pharmacy workflow areas, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.

What you'll need#

• Must be accepted into or actively enrolled in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Strong attention to detail to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety.
• Ability to pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs.
