Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice under the guidance of a preceptor. This program is designed to prepare you for a future role as a pharmacist by immersing you in pharmacy operations, including store, district, and regional workflows. You will follow a comprehensive training roadmap to build clinical and operational skills while contributing to a team that prioritizes patient health and safety.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team in ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Provide compassionate service to patients by answering questions, offering immunizations, and resolving issues.
• Perform inventory tasks such as processing medication deliveries, cycle counts, and returns-to-stock.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, professional standards, and company policies to ensure patient privacy and safety.
• Deliver additional health services, such as point-of-care testing and immunizations, where allowable by law and supported by required training.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus over extended periods.
• A customer-service mindset with the ability to interact with patients and colleagues in a friendly, empathetic manner.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
