Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice while preparing for a future role as a Pharmacist. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will gain hands-on experience through a structured training roadmap, covering store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams to ensure safe, accurate, and prompt prescription fulfillment while developing your professional skills.

What you'll do#

• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences and activities.
• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled accurately.
• Demonstrate empathy and genuine care in all interactions with patients and colleagues.
• Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations.
• Provide caring service at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone, including fielding questions and offering counseling under pharmacist supervision.
• Support immunizations after obtaining the necessary licensure and training.
• Maintain inventory, including cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and medication deliveries.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Valid intern and/or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Proficiency in using math to solve problems, such as calculating dosages and day supplies.
• Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods, with the physical capacity to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to pivot quickly between tasks.
