Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a 3rd-year Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice to prepare for a future role as a Pharmacist. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences (KLEs), to gain hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations. This is a part-time position for Summer 2026.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, including filling prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Deliver patient care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by required training.
• Contribute to a high-performing team by embracing a growth mindset, being receptive to feedback, and actively seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
• Maintain high levels of self-awareness and provide coaching or mentoring to pharmacy team members.
• Perform inventory activities, such as putting away medication deliveries, completing cycle counts, and managing returns-to-stock.
• Communicate effectively with patients and prescribers, including taking telephonic prescriptions and clarifying information when permitted by state regulation.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Possession of, or in the process of obtaining, valid intern and/or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
