About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams to deliver quality care while developing your clinical and technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy operations to ensure prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Follow company standard operating procedures and workflow protocols at all workstations.
- Provide caring service to patients, including fielding medical questions and offering to counsel under pharmacist supervision.
- Facilitate medication changes and take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Deliver patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions.
- Complete basic inventory activities, including cycle counts and medication deliveries.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and active listening abilities.
- Mathematical reasoning skills for prescription calculations.
- Ability to pivot between tasks and maintain focus in a busy environment.
- Ability to travel to other store locations within the market as needed.
- Ability to become immunization certified.

- Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
