Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, including filling prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) to build clinical and operational aptitude.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care, including creating personalized moments and solving patient problems.
• Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
• Follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Perform clinical tasks such as offering counseling, taking telephonic prescriptions, and facilitating medication changes under pharmacist supervision.
• Maintain inventory, including medication deliveries, cycle counts, and returns.
• Support immunization services by educating patients, monitoring for adverse reactions, and documenting patient information, where permitted by law.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
• Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
