About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This program provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while preparing you for a future role as a pharmacist. You will operate as part of a pharmacy team, following standard operating procedures and contributing to a safe, inclusive environment.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and key learning experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call to clarify medication changes.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Perform basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and putting away deliveries.
- Support immunizations where permissible by law and assist with patient education.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and solving problems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or acceptance to an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market is preferred.

- Compensation: $20.50 - $24.25 per hour.
