Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice in a retail pharmacy setting. This program is designed to prepare you for the responsibilities of a Pharmacist through a comprehensive training roadmap. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to gain hands-on experience in store, district, and regional operations while supporting the pharmacy team in delivering patient care.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure smooth, safe, and accurate operations.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for prescription fulfillment, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Provide empathetic and caring service to patients, including resolving concerns and answering questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) and activities.
• Engage in continuous learning to expand your clinical and technical knowledge.
• Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and managing medication deliveries.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient privacy and safety.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to concentrate on tasks for extended periods and pivot quickly between responsibilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Ability to remain mobile and stand for extended periods, with the ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
