About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap to gain experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist by immersing you in pharmacy workflow and daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and follow company SOPs at each workstation.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by offering to counsel, fielding medical questions, and taking telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as processing medication deliveries and cycle counts.
- Support immunizations by educating patients on vaccines, reviewing patient information, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market.

- Location: Highland Park, Illinois.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time with a rolling term.
- Compensation: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
