Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice under the direction of a preceptor. This program is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist by providing hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations. You will support the pharmacy team in delivering safe, accurate, and compassionate care to patients while developing your clinical and technical skills.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure that pharmacy operations run smoothly.
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by creating heartfelt moments and demonstrating empathy.
• Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and manage clarifications.
• Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination-related questions to the pharmacist.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient privacy and safety.

What you'll need#

• Acceptance into, or active enrollment in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining such licensure.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
• Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
• Proficiency in confirming prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
