Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice while preparing for the responsibilities of a Pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations and patient care. This role focuses on supporting the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled safely and accurately while delivering high-quality service.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure daily operations run smoothly and efficiently.
• Follow all company standard operating procedures (SOPs) at every workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and genuine care during interactions.
• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including key learning experiences and activities with district leadership.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles.
• Assist with inventory activities, such as cycle counts and processing medication deliveries.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Possession of, or active progress toward obtaining, a valid intern or technician license as required by the state.
• Strong ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
• Proficiency in confirming prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.
• Mathematical aptitude to solve problems, such as calculating medication dosages.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, including active listening.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends, and the ability to travel to different store locations as needed.
