About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role is designed to help you prepare for a future Pharmacist position by providing an overview of store, district, and regional operations.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap including key learning experiences and activities.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Provide caring service and offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and solicit medical history.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts and putting away medication deliveries.
- Deliver patient health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Support immunization workflows by educating patients, monitoring for adverse reactions, and documenting patient information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by the state.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market.
