About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic pharmacy training to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, including prescription fulfillment at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off stations.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, answering medical questions, and resolving patient concerns.
- Maintain high self-awareness while providing in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and federal or state regulations to ensure patient safety and data privacy.
- Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
- Support immunization services by educating patients and documenting information, where permitted by law and training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or active progress toward obtaining, a valid intern or technician license.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
- Strong attention and focus, with the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication, mathematical reasoning, and problem resolution.
- Physical ability to remain mobile for extended periods, reach, stoop, and lift up to 20 lbs.
