Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern at CVS Health, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment. You will play a key role in delivering patient care, managing pharmacy operations, and supporting the broader pharmacy team. This position is designed for students to gain professional experience while contributing to patient health outcomes.

What you'll do#

• Manage and adopt patient care programs to support customer and patient health.
• Demonstrate empathy and compassion when interacting with patients, caregivers, and colleagues.
• Collaborate with the team to improve outcomes and seek new ways to grow professionally.
• Facilitate a positive team culture focused on energy, enthusiasm, and care.
• Assist with patient safety, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, inventory management, and workflow.
• Perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, and precise manual tasks like scanning and typing.
• Strive to provide patient immunizations once state regulations and eligibility requirements are met.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it as required by the state.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to complete all required training within state guidelines and timeframes.
• Availability for a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
