About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist while you support the pharmacy team in delivering care to patients.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Complete basic inventory activities, including putting away medication deliveries and performing cycle counts.
- Support immunization services by educating patients and monitoring for adverse reactions where permitted by law.
- Maintain compliance with all company standard operating procedures, federal, state, and local regulations.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
