Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic training to real-world practice under the guidance of a preceptor. This role focuses on developing your professional skills through a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) and hands-on work within our pharmacy operations. You will gain exposure to store, district, and regional workflows while preparing for the responsibilities of a future Pharmacist.

What you'll do#

• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, genuine care, and professional communication.
• Field medical questions and solicit information on a patient’s medical history to assist in providing optimal care.
• Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, where allowable by law and supported by required training.
• Complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to build clinical and technical proficiency.
• Assist with basic inventory activities and maintain compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), federal, and state regulations.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Possession of, or active progress toward obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods and the agility to pivot between responsibilities to meet patient and business needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to actively listen and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
