Foreign Pharmacy Grad - International Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

This internship is designed for foreign-educated pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain hands-on experience in retail pharmacy operations, patient care, and practice management. Participants are expected to complete their internship requirements within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in the state of practice within 120 days of completing their required hours.

What you'll do#

• Greet customers in a courteous and professional manner, both in-store and at the drive-thru window.
• Assist pharmacy and front-store customers with questions and concerns.
• Ensure compliance with all federal and state laws, rules, and regulations regarding pharmacy operations.
• Support the pharmacy team by maintaining workflow standards, processing prescriptions, and managing inventory.
• Facilitate patient care programs and provide counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Participate in store operational meetings and support the training and development of pharmacy support staff.

What you'll need#

• A degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Doctorate or equivalent) from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
• Must be a foreign graduate from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy prior to beginning the training program.
• Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure in the state where the position is based within 120 days of completing US intern hours.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Physical ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. occasionally and up to 10 lbs. frequently.
