About the role#
This internship provides foreign pharmacy graduates the opportunity to complete required US internship hours and apply their education in a real-world setting. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to transition into a pharmacist role. The program requires completion of internship hours within 18 months and attainment of pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide empathetic patient care, including fielding medical questions and offering counseling under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Perform inventory tasks such as cycle counts and returns.
- Deliver health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing, while educating patients on vaccine importance and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Travel to other stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
What you'll need#
- Foreign graduate degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- 1+ years of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
