About the role#
As a foreign-trained pharmacist, you will complete the required US internship hours to build your professional knowledge and skills. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment. This role requires the successful completion of your internship within 18 months and obtaining pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Deliver exceptional care to patients and manage patient care programs.
- Lead with empathy and compassion while supporting your pharmacy manager in developing support staff.
- Identify business opportunities and solutions to drive growth.
- Greet customers in a professional manner and assist with their questions or concerns.
- Process prescriptions, including the translation of SIG codes, labeling, and product selection.
- Resolve third-party rejections and maintain pharmacy inventory.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Perform point-of-care testing and prepare or deliver immunizations.
- Comply with all HIPAA regulations, federal and state laws, and company policies.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Active Pharmacy Intern license in the state of Wisconsin.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and 10 lbs frequently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
- Eligibility to immunize is preferred.
