Foreign Pharmacy Grad - International Pharmacy Intern

About the role#

This internship program is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates to complete required US internship hours and apply didactic learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to develop the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to transition into a Pharmacist role. The program requires the successful completion of internship hours within 18 months, with the goal of obtaining pharmacist licensure in the state of practice within 120 days of completing those hours.

What you'll do#

• Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
• Follow company standard operating procedures (SOPs) at each workstation to help pharmacists and technicians manage and improve patient health.
• Demonstrate empathy and genuine care to contribute to a safe and inclusive culture for patients and colleagues.
• Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
• Complete basic inventory activities, such as processing medication deliveries, cycle counts, and returns-to-stock, as permitted by law and directed by pharmacy leadership.
• Perform pharmacy workflow procedures including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and solicit medical history information under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

What you'll need#

• Graduation from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• FPGEC certification.
• Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure in the state of practice within 120 days of completing US intern hours.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
• Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
• Proficiency in mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
