About the role#
This internship provides foreign-trained pharmacy graduates the opportunity to complete required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting. The program is designed to help you build the knowledge and skills necessary to transition into a licensed pharmacist role. You must complete all required internship hours within 18 months.
What you'll do#
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes and selecting products.
- Resolve third party rejections and manage manual claim forms.
- Support the supervising pharmacist in dispensing medications and monitoring compliance.
- Provide patient counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory and assist with drug orders.
- Ensure a safe and effective work environment while following regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards.
What you'll need#
- A Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state of Texas.
- Successful completion of both the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Commitment to completing all required US internship hours within 18 months.
