About the role#
As a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your pharmacist education. This role focuses on developing your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a retail pharmacy environment. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective work environment while delivering patient care.
What you'll do#
- Complete required US internship hours within 18 months.
- Process prescriptions, resolve third party rejections, and perform prescription pick-up procedures.
- Maintain in-stock inventory and ensure workflow management standards are met.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Communicate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.
- Greet and assist pharmacy and front store customers.
- Maintain patient confidentiality according to HIPAA and company policies.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Identify business opportunities to drive growth and improve performance.
- Participate in store operational meetings and coordinate staff training.
- Comply with all federal and state laws and CVS policies.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacist degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 20 lbs.
- Skills in emotional intelligence, time management, and conflict resolution.
- Commitment to obtaining pharmacist licensure within 120 days of completing internship hours.
