About the role#

This student position supports plant IT and manufacturing operations at Cummins. It is a hands-on role focused on maintaining the systems that keep the shop floor running efficiently.

What you'll do#

• Support plant IT and manufacturing systems by assisting with troubleshooting, testing, and documenting applications such as scanning systems, quality gates, and production tracking.
• Assist with data validation, reporting, and basic system updates to ensure the accuracy of production and quality information.
• Participate in small improvement projects, including updating documentation, testing enhancements, and supporting process improvements across IT and operations teams.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in high school or college with an interest in Information Technology, Engineering, or Manufacturing.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and general troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn in a hands-on environment.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Preferred: Exposure to programming, databases, or tools like Power Apps and SQL, and an interest in automation or process improvement.
