About the role#
The Project Field Intern role provides project management and administrative support on construction projects. This position is designed to offer a meaningful work experience for students pursuing a career in construction management. You will work on-site to assist the project management team with daily operations, safety compliance, and documentation.
What you'll do#
- Perform daily or weekly site inspections to monitor safety and quality standards.
- Write inspection reports and maintain daily logs.
- Assist with scope writing, bid solicitations, and pre-construction meetings.
- Receive, review, and distribute submittals and shop drawings.
- Field questions from trade contractors and draft Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Compile progress meeting agendas and record meeting minutes.
- Run safety orientations and update site-specific safety plans.
- Issue hot work permits and check for site hazards.
- Manage project closeout documentation and create project punch lists.
- Track and manage warranty items.
What you'll need#
- Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent military experience.
- A 3.0 GPA or better.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to articulate ideas clearly.
- Superior attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Mechanical aptitude and a self-motivated team-oriented mindset.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for daily travel to job sites.
