    About the role#

    The Mine Engineering Intern role at Pennsy Supply, a CRH company, offers hands-on experience in the aggregates industry. This internship lasts for 10-12 weeks and involves working across various plants in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania region. You will bridge your academic studies with practical company objectives through exposure to multiple departments and field environments.

    What you'll do#

    • Follow all safety policies and learn MSHA, OSHA, and DOT regulations.
    • Conduct geological exploration and analysis across multiple quarries.
    • Support short and long term mine planning, inventory management, and permitting.
    • Assist with engineering processes including capital expenditure planning, Aggflow analysis, and equipment sizing.
    • Evaluate cost saving initiatives and project payback criteria.
    • Help the drone operator with topography mapping and stripping calculations.
    • Perform quality control and quality assurance tasks.
    • Spend time in field operations and shadow personnel to understand aggregate objectives and blasting operations.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a Junior in a Mine Engineering or Geology program.
    • A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
    • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel between sites.
    • Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.

    • This role is based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
    • This is an on-site, full-time position.
