About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Lunenburg, Massachusetts. You will work on-site at our quarry and asphalt plant to learn the quality control processes used to maintain our product standards. You will assist our team with material sampling, testing, and data entry.
What you'll do#
- Work in the quarry to assist with process control through material sampling and gradations.
- Learn to identify and follow various specification requirements.
- Assist the asphalt plant team in monitoring the quality of hot asphalt mix.
- Test materials to determine weight, specific gravity, and the gradation of mix components.
- Communicate test results and mix specifications with current quality control technicians.
- Enter test data into computer systems at laboratory and remote locations.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- A clean DMV record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and a Fit for Work physical.
- An A.S. degree in Civil Engineering is preferred.
- One year of experience in quality control testing is helpful but not required.
- New England Transportation Technician Certification is desirable.
