About the role#
The Aggregate Project Engineer Intern will gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of the aggregate mining business. You will work with the Project Management team on capital projects, report preparation, and operational planning while learning the administrative and technical requirements of the industry.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Project Management team with ongoing and future capital projects, including schedules, key milestones, and work quality.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to find solutions to common issues and improve document control processes like cost management and construction drawings.
- Shadow operations personnel to understand aggregate objectives, mining materials, and operational planning.
- Prepare reports for senior leadership and assist with monthly project projections.
- Look for ways to use new technology to improve efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
- Learn administrative requirements, including the importance of detailed documentation and timely communication.
- Work with multiple departments on special projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or have two to four years of related experience.
- Proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedure manuals, and operating instructions.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to write routine reports and speak effectively with employees and customers.
- Mathematical skills to compute rates, ratios, and percentages, and the ability to interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
- Willingness to travel, work away from home, and work nights or weekends when necessary.
- Commitment to strict safety standards and company policies.
Location & details#
- Location: Findlay, Ohio.
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship.
- You will regularly work near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor weather conditions, which may include exposure to heat, cold, and loud noise levels.
