About the role#
The Aggregate Intern will work with our mining business to gain experience across multiple lines of operation. You will collaborate with project management and operations teams to support ongoing capital projects and improve business processes. This role requires a willingness to work nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Project Management team with monthly projections, schedules, and key milestones.
- Help identify improvement opportunities for document control, including cost management and construction drawings.
- Shadow operations personnel to learn about aggregate objectives and planning.
- Explore ways to deploy technology to improve efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
- Prepare reports for senior leadership and work with stakeholders to resolve common issues.
- Learn administrative requirements through hands-on experience and practice timely communication.
- Assist with special projects across multiple departments.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
- Two to four years of related experience or training.
- Proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedure manuals, and operating instructions.
- Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to lift or move more than 25 pounds and work in outdoor weather conditions.
