Sustaining Engineering Intern

About the role#

The Sustaining Engineering department at Crane Company maintains safe, industry-compliant designs for XOMOX branded quarter-turn valves used in corrosive and toxic chemical processing. This internship provides hands-on experience in engineering support, project management, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

What you'll do#

• Research and approve or reject deviation requests submitted by the production floor, suppliers, and foundries.
• Manage specific projects and increase product knowledge by reviewing internal and external specifications, conducting shop floor walks, and collaborating with senior personnel.
• Create and maintain accurate documentation for designs, testing, and project data according to company procedures.
• Prepare engineering test reports, bulletins, drawings, work instructions, and assembly procedures.
• Provide support regarding product fit, form, and function to various business groups.

What you'll need#

• Active pursuit of an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail with a focus on design quality.
• Ability to manage time and stay organized.
